Approach: Research to Reality
My purpose is to share CBT and psychological knowledge for the betterment of others.
A Foundation of Experience & Excellence
My work is grounded in over seven years of practice as a Registered Psychologist in the Philippines, where I developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges facing the Filipino community. This foundation is paired with the high standards of the EuroPsy (EFPA) certification and my advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at the University of Edinburgh.
Beyond the Surface
I use a friendly but professional approach that balances an openness to explore significant life events and relationships with the structured power of CBT. In our sessions, we don’t just stay on the surface; we look at the layers of your thinking to understand the “why” behind how you feel.
The Collaborative Map
I am a strong advocate of the collaborative and reflective nature of counseling. We will work together to build a shared understanding—or a “formulation”—of the thoughts and feelings most important to you. By making sense of these patterns, we can move from insight to action, developing a personalized toolkit that helps you navigate your reality with more clarity and confidence.
Focus / Specialisms
While I am happy to work with people from all walks of life, my expertise is most effective for those navigating specific internal and interpersonal patterns. My work is particularly tailored to help you if you are experiencing:
- Attachment & Relationship Patterns: Understanding the “why” behind how you relate to others and addressing recurring difficulties in family or romantic dynamics.
- Low Mood & Burnout: Navigating periods of low energy, loss of motivation, or the heavy “grayness” that can follow prolonged stress.
- Social Navigation & Anxiety: Addressing the persistent worry of being judged or “not belonging,” particularly in high-pressure or new cultural environments.
- The Perfectionism Trap: Breaking the cycle of “all-or-nothing” thinking and the pressure to be perfect that often leads to procrastination or exhaustion.
- Imposter Syndrome: Helping high-achievers bridge the gap between their actual successes and the internal feeling that they are “not enough.”
- The Diaspora Experience: Specializing in the unique psychological “in-between” of living across cultures, focusing on identity, homesickness, and acculturation.
